MOOSE JAW, SK- The City of Moose Jaw is seeking assistance from residents in the clean-up of tree debris stemming from the early snowstorms last fall. Now that much of the snow has melted, sticks, branches, and debris have emerged resulting in additional spring clean-up efforts in the community.

Most of the debris stems from the significant snowfall event that occurred in October 2022. To expedite the clean-up process, residents can assist by cleaning up small debris, twigs and leaves on boulevards, park spaces and back lanes adjacent to their respective residences and businesses. If the objects are too large or still affixed to a boulevard tree and require heavy equipment, City staff are available to address those requests and will be prioritizing clean-up activities based on potential risks to people and property. The City is also prioritizing residential needs ahead of parks and open spaces.

“We would like to thank the community for their ongoing assistance with spring clean-up activities across the City,” explained Cory Oakes, Parks and Recreation Operations Manager. “Residents are encouraged to use the Report an Issue feature at Moosejaw.ca or on the free City app to report any clean-up that requires City assistance. Including pictures with your requests is strongly encouraged as it will help our team to prioritize the many requests we have coming in right now.”
