Event Planning

The City of Moose Jaw supports and hosts many local events in city facilities and parks. Popular event locations include the Yara Centre, Kinsmen Sportsplex, Pla-Mor Palace, Phyllis Dewar Outdoor Pool, Crescent Park, Elgin Park, Happy Valley Park and tatawaw Park. For assistance in planning your event, please email or call 306 694-4447.

The City of Moose Jaw recognizes that Outdoor Events play an integral role in the community’s spirit, health, and participation and strongly support events in our community.

Outdoor Events Planning Guide

If you are interested in using Crescent Park, Happy Valley, Elgin, tatawâw Park or any or other outdoor facilities, permits are required. All applications will be reviewed by the Parks & Recreation Department and approval is granted once the application is signed by the City. The signed copy of the application will serve as the Special Event Permit for the event.

Please note that all Wakamow Valley and Connor Park bookings are done with Wakamow Valley.

Parks and Open Spaces Rental Fees (April 1, 2024 - March 31, 2025):

GST not included Rate Type Rate
All Parks and Open Spaces Exclusive Use Per Hour $55.00 + GST
All Parks and Open Spaces Exclusive Use Full Day $220.00 + GST
Washroom/Shack Non-Exclusive Use Full Day $31.50 + GST

Alcohol Use Events

Written approval from the City is required to obtain a Special Occasion Sale Permit from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority for Alcohol Use Events in City Parks and City Facilities. The Special Occasion Permit Application Form below will be used as City Approval for SLGA Liquor Permits.

Please refer to the City of Moose Jaw Alcohol Use Events Policy below for further information regarding the approval process, event eligibility and submission deadlines.

Special Occasion Liquor Permit Application Form

The following City Parks and City Facilities are eligible for Alcohol Use Events:

  • Hamilton Flats Slo-Pitch Diamonds
  • Happy Valley Park
  • Caribou Heights Fastball Diamonds
  • Ross Wells Ball Park
  • Memorial Field Ball Park
  • Moose Jaw Events Centre
  • Moose Jaw Homegrown Farmers Market – Langdon Crescent (Vendor Only Event)
  • Wakamow Farmers Market – Kiwanis River Park (Vendor Only Event)

The following City Parks and City Facilities are considered “Discretionary Use” for Alcohol Use Events and require approval from City Council:

  • Crescent Park
  • Elgin Park
  • Bell Park
  • tatawâw Park
  • Pla-Mor Palace
  • Kinsmen Sportsplex
  • Yara Centre
  • All other City Parks and City Facilities not specifically listed as eligible
