City Councillor – Doug Blanc
I was raised in Moose Jaw and attended Palliser Heights, AE Peacock and STI. I married my wife Vicki (Glassford) in 1976, also raised in Moose Jaw. We have three children and 2 granddaughters.
I worked for Ministry of Highways for 28 years. I was an elected member of SGEU including 4 years as president. I accepted a full time position with SGEU as an advocate for members denied Disability, WCB and CPP. I then bargained many collective agreements. I also farmed during this time. After retiring from SGEU, I did private consulting for different management groups.
I truly believe Moose Jaw is a great place to live and raise a family. We have many great facilities for our citizens. The history of Moose Jaw is an asset that should be cherished. We should be proud of the industry and businesses we have, and welcome any new ones.
We will have challenges but if we continue to promote our city both for new businesses and industry we will get through these next few years. We need to continue our work in tourism, as tourists benefit everyone.
I will work hard on your behalf and strive to represent everyone in Moose Jaw.
