City Councillor –Dawn Luhning
Dawn has lived in Moose Jaw for 40 years. She is a graduate of Central Collegiate and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan.
She has been employed and self-employed in the financial industry since 1994. Dawn very much enjoys helping her clients with their financial futures and guides them in building strong roadmaps for risk and wealth management. She is an independent financial advisor with Desjardins Financial Security Investments and DL Solutions.
Dawn enjoys all sports, with baseball and football being her favorites. She started running in 2000 and has done many 5 and 10km runs and a handful of half-marathons. The Moose Jawg Charity Road Race was developed in 2002 and over 15 years, the event has raised over $120,000 for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. Dawn continues to be the event’s Race Director.
In 2012, Dawn was honoured to win a Women of Distinction award through the Regina YWCA in the Community Leadership and Enhancement category for her work over the years on City Council, Moose Jaw Cultural Centre Builders and Board, Prairie Arts Festival, Moose Jawg and various other organizations past and present in the community. She has represented the City on Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association, Cultural Centre, Economic Development, Palliser Regional Library, Heritage Advisory and Humane Society.
Dawn is looking forward to the next four years serving Moose Jaw citizens and businesses.
