English Language Training

Many immigrants and refugees coming to Saskatchewan will have to improve their English language skills. To help with this, Saskatchewan offers a free language assessment (a test of your English) and English classes to those who qualify.

Language Classes and other English Training Options

There are a variety of English classes and training options available in Moose Jaw, depending on your immigration status and English levels. Many of them are free. You usually need to begin with a test of your English levels (see below)

For more information on options, contact the Newcomer Welcome Centre: http://mjmcinc.ca/services/newcomer-welcome-center

Language Assessment There are many reasons why a person may want to have their English assessed. Saskatchewan offers, free of charge to those who qualify, one type of assessment. This is a "placement test" which tells you your Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) score (English levels) and helps to decide which classes are suitable for you.

To see if you qualify for a CLBPT Assessment, contact the Newcomer Welcome Centre: http://mjmcinc.ca/services/newcomer-welcome-center
