Most serious emergencies can be reported by calling 911 on any telephone. You will be given immediate help and police, medical, fire, rescue or dangerous goods staff will be sent to you. If you are using a pay phone, you do not need to deposit any money to call 911. You will be asked some questions about the emergency. If you have a health question that is not an emergency, you can call 811 to find information from the Provincial Health Hotline. Moose Jaw is in the Five Hills Health Region. Health Care in this region is given by trained doctors and nurses. You can get care at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital, at a walk-in medical clinic, or at the office of a personal physician (a doctor who has his own office to see patients in). You must show your Health Card to get services for free. Many people have a personal physician that they can see whenever they need. Some doctors are too busy to take new patients. Sometimes people find themselves in abusive or threatening situations. Maybe a person you know has frightened or hurt you or your children. There are some emergency numbers to call if something like this happens and you need some help quickly. The following numbers do not keep your name or number, so they will not ever call you back.
