MOOSE JAW – The City of Moose Jaw advises property owners and residents in Zone 9 that the City is standardizing waste collection services in your area.

That means that the City will be providing customers a green waste bin (the same as all other collection zones in Moose Jaw) that is to be used in place of your existing bins.

In 2021, Moose Jaw City Council approved the purchase of a new, smaller garbage truck that can access Zone 9’s collection area and provide semi-automated waste pick ups of the green bins.

The new truck is ready for deployment, which means the end of manual collection in Zone 9. The City will begin delivery of the new, green waste collection bins the week of September 19. Following delivery, residents will be required to move the cart to their point of collection (where their garbage is normaly collected for the property) and will need to start utilizing the new bin upon arrival, to ensure waste collection services remain uninterrupted. The first date of collection with the new bins is Friday, September 23. (If you haven’t received your bin by that date then set your garbage for collection as you have been).

The City reminds all residents that if you need service please submit a Request for Service (RFS) through the City of Moose Jaw app, the Report An Issue link on the City website www.moosejaw.ca, contact the Public Works Department between 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at 306-694-4448 or email: contactoperations@moosejaw.ca.

Letters are being delivered to residents in Zone 9 giving notice of this change.
