Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw’s advises that beginning Monday, July 6, the intersection of Main St. and High St. will be closed to vehicular traffic.

The closure is needed to allow NIS Construction Ltd. to continue water main replacement, and is expected to last into the week of July 13, weather permitting.

High St. West between Main St. and Third Avenue NW is the first location in the 2020 Water Main Replacement Program, which includes the replacement of aging, failing cast iron water main pipe.

The intersection of High St. West and First Avenue NW will reopen to traffic while work is completed on Main St., and two-way traffic will continue on the 100 block of High St. West.

Progress continues with the project as the new pipe has been installed and water mains are back in service on the 200 block of High St. West, and concrete work has begun. The 200 block of High St. West is closed temporarily to accommodate the concrete installation.

Water main replacement also continues on Fairford St. East, with the 0-200 blocks closed to vehicle traffic.

Local businesses in the respective construction corridors remain open and the City reminds residents and visitors that you may park free at all City meters until further notice, as directed by Moose Jaw City Council. This includes the parking lot on First Avenue NW that provides rear access to 0 block High St. businesses.

Sidewalk business access is also available but may be temporarily impacted at a later date as construction progresses.
