Water Main Replacement Update – 0 Block High St. West Blocked To Vehicle Traffic and 1st Ave. Intersection Closed

Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw’s advises that beginning Tuesday, June 30, the 0 block of High Street West will be closed to vehicular traffic.
The closure is needed to allow NIS Construction Ltd. to continue water main replacement. High St. West between Main St. and Third Avenue NW is the first location in the 2020 Water Main Replacement Program, which includes the replacement of aging, failing cast iron water main pipe.
The south side of the High St. West and First Avenue NW intersection is also be closed effective Wednesday, July 1 to allow construction to proceed. Traffic can detour west at High St. (see map below).
Two-way traffic continues on the 100 and 200 blocks of High St. West, with the eastbound lanes still closed to allow completion of the water main replacement project.
Progress continues with the project as the new pipe has been installed on the 200 block of High St. West, and concrete work will begin the week of June 29.
All local businesses in the construction corridor remain open and the City reminds residents and visitors that you may park free at all City meters until further notice, as directed by Moose Jaw City Council. This includes the parking lot on First Avenue NW that provides rear access to 0 block High St. businesses.
Sidewalk business access is also available but may be temporarily impacted at a later date as construction progresses.
