Water Main Replacement On Fairford St. East Begins Week of June 8

Moose Jaw – The City of Moose Jaw’s 2020 Water Main Replacement Program will begin on the 0 block of Fairford Street East the week of June 8. 

Water main replacement on the 200 block of High St. West began May 25, and the selected contractor (NIS Construction Ltd.) will have a second crew perform construction concurrently at the Fairford St. location, with the 0-200 block scheduled for replacement. 

Crews will begin on the 0 block and work their way east, one block at a time. Estimated construction time is four weeks per block, weather permitting. 

A traffic plan for Fairford St. East will be released closer to the construction date, and construction will not impact the current hours of operation for businesses in the construction zone. 

Four locations were selected for water main replacement in 2020:

– Fairford St. East from Main St. to Second Avenue NE (560 metres)– High St. West from Main St. to Third Avenue NW (540 metres)– Third Avenue NW from Oxford St. to Macdonald St. (670 metres)

– Stadacona St. East from Sixth Avenue-10th Avenue NE (790 metres) 

Details and start dates of the final two locations selected for 2020 Water Main Replacement will be released at a later date.
