Water Main Construction Update; 100 and 200 Blocks of High St. West Open

Moose Jaw, SK – Water main replacement continues to progress in Moose Jaw and the City of Moose Jaw is pleased to provide the following updates:
High Street: The 100 and 200 blocks of High St., including the intersection of 1st Avenue NW and High St., are open to traffic. Concrete and surface work on the 0 block of High St. continues with paving to follow. Paving will require the temporary closure of the High St./Main St. intersection, with the entire section opened to traffic the week of August 24, weather permitting.
0-200 blocks Fairford St.: Crews are completing concrete work, including additional curb enhancements approved by Council as part of the Downtown Local Area Plan. Paving will begin the week of August 24, weather permitting.
2nd Ave NW between Manitoba St. and Fairford St.: This is an additional location approved by City Council, which will also include aesthetic enhancements from the Downtown Local Area Plan. Crews continue to excavate and install new water main pipe in the area, and it remains closed to traffic.
Stadacona St. East: Temporary water has been set up for affected residents and traffic is blocked between 6th Ave. and 8th Ave., including the 7th Avenue intersection. Detours are in place and crews have begun construction.
Local businesses in the respective construction corridors remain open and the City reminds residents and visitors that you may park free at all City meters until further notice, as directed by Moose Jaw City Council. This includes the parking lot on First Avenue NW that provides rear access to 0 block High St. businesses. Sidewalk business access is also available but may be temporarily impacted as construction progresses.
