The Mosaic Company and The City of Moose Jaw Announce Future Name Change of Mosaic Place
March 11, 2021
MOOSE JAW – The Mosaic Company and the City of Moose Jaw announced today that Moose Jaw’s Downtown Facility, currently known as Mosaic Place, will undergo a future name change as the pair’s ten-year naming rights agreement term ends this year.
“For the past decade, we have proudly attached our company name to Mosaic Place, a facility that is an important center to the community of Moose Jaw, where nearly 250 Mosaic employees call home,” said Sarah Fedorchuk, Vice President Public Affairs and Government Relations with The Mosaic Company. “While our naming rights agreement is ending, we remain a proud and committed partner to the City of Moose Jaw.”
At the end of this year, Mosaic has invested over $1.5 million into Mosaic Place and nearly $2.2 million to Moose Jaw’s local health care, food security initiatives and other programming in the past nine years.
“In the years to come, you will see Mosaic continue to invest in organizations and initiatives that meet the needs of the local community while matching the business priorities of our company,” adds Fedorchuk.
The City of Moose Jaw and Mayor Fraser Tolmie expressed their appreciation towards Mosaic’s decade of support for the downtown facility and continued commitment to Moose Jaw.
“From Carrie Underwood to Dolly Parton, Moose Jaw Warriors hockey to the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, we’ve proven this facility can host world-class entertainment,” said Mayor Fraser Tolmie. “A new naming rights partner will give the facility a chance to rebrand itself and build on our reputation as Canada’s Most Notorious City. Sharing the news now, provides us with time to have meaningful conversations with interested new partners who want to be part of the exciting next chapter of the facility.”
The facility will continue to be known as Mosaic Place as the City of Moose Jaw looks to name a new partner. “We are working together to ensure the transition puts the future of the facility first, and with Mosaic’s commitment to provide additional financial support during this time, we are confident the future of the facility and its pandemic recovery planning is on solid ground. Mosaic will always be part of the legacy of the facility and Moose Jaw.”
