MOOSE JAW, SK – The City of Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce congratulate Herb & Holly Fellwock, our “Notoriously Good Neighbours” for March.

The City of Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce created the program to recognize the Notoriously Friendly, Notoriously Generous and Notoriously Kind-Hearted Moose Javians making a Notoriously Positive difference in our community.

Nominated by their neighbours, Susan and John Fortune, the Fortunes say the Fellwocks are great and they could not have asked for better. “My health has deteriorated, and my wife has had to take over my share of the household duties, mainly mowing and shoveling,” explained John Fortune. “Whenever Herb did his lawn or driveway, he always found time to do ours including shoveling the backyard pathway to the garbage pickup.”

When Susan Fortune was hospitalized in 2024, her husband said his neighbours went above and beyond to help them. “Herb and Holly both stepped in to take me to the hospital daily and even came back at night to pick me up to go home. They really took a lot of pressure off me, since I don’t drive,” said Fortune. “This really helped us, and I can never thank them enough for their care and kindness.”

He finished the submission about his neighbours by saying the Fellwocks made a lasagna for supper the night he was writing it and brought half of it over to the Fortunes to have for dinner too.

As an official “Notoriously Good Neighbours”, the Fellwocks were awarded gift certificates to Tunnels of Moose Jaw, a token of appreciation for their contributions to the community.

Moose Javians can nominate their Notoriously Good Neighbour by using the Report An Issue feature on MooseJaw.ca or the free City of Moose Jaw app. And, to read the City’s “Notorious Nine – Nine Ways to Be a Notoriously Good Neighbour” – click here.
