MOOSE JAW – The City of Moose Jaw advises that water discolouration for many properties on South Hill is temporary, and water is still safe to consume.

The discolouration is a result of closed valves related to the recent water main breaks on the 1200 and 1300 blocks of Coteau St. West. Properties in the break zone who have received red notices remain on a Boil Water Advisory (BWA) until receiving a green notice signifying the BWA is over.

If you notice street sweeping happening in your area that may be another factor causing discoloured water. Crews use water from area hydrants and some discolouration can happen when hydrants are operated.

The discoloured water may last a few days and is safe to drink.
