The City of Moose Jaw is advising motorists of an updated speed limit in the area adjacent to 1996 Summer Games Park on Coteau Street W in the South Hill neighbourhood.

This area meets the criteria for a Playground Area (a roadway with a nearby a green space or playground warranting driver awareness) but does not meet the criteria for a formal Playground Zone (a roadway in immediate proximity to a playground, which requires a reduced speed limit). As such, the speed limit has been increased from 30 km/h to 50 km/h. Drivers should still exercise caution by scanning the area for children and adjust their speed accordingly.

The 30 km/h Playground Zone remains in place on 16th Avenue SW, adjacent to the spray park, to help ensure the safety of children in the area.
