Retired Nurse & Police Officer Named September’s Notoriously Good Neighbours
MOOSE JAW, SK – The City of Moose Jaw and Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce congratulate Dan & Fran Millar, our “Notoriously Good Neighbours” for the month of September.
The City of Moose Jaw and Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce created the program to recognize the Notoriously Friendly, Notoriously Generous and Notoriously Kind-Hearted Moose Javians making a Notoriously Positive difference in our community.
Both recipients are retired frontline workers who have continued to help people even after finishing their professional careers, according to their nominators, Arlyssa and Jason Heard. “We live directly across the street from them and notice they are always helping neighbours pick weeds, shoveling snow, chipping ice, keeping up with drainage on the Crescent after a melt, and bringing garbage/recycling bins back to properties off the street after pick-up,” the
Heards explained.
They also noted that the Millars are just all-around good people, adding “they love spending quality time with their grandkids (and) are just great people and are always helping others out.”
As official “Notoriously Good Neighbours”, the Millars have been awarded a gift card to Tim Hortons.
Moose Javians can nominate their Notoriously Good Neighbour with the Report An Issue feature on the City’s website, MooseJaw.ca, or on the free City of Moose Jaw app. And, to read the City’s “Notorious Nine – Nine Ways to Be a Notoriously Good Neighbour” – click here.
