Moose Jaw, SK – Public consultation on a proposed amendment to the City of Moose Jaw’s Official Community Plan (OCP) is being extended.
At the regular meeting of City Council Monday, September 21, Council voted to hold Public Consultation on a proposal to develop privately-owned land (located at 1155 7th Avenue SW) currently designated Community Service/Parks/River Valley Conservation in the OCP.
The proposal is to change the Future Land Use designation to Future Residential to facilitate development of a new residential subdivision called River Pointe Park.
“In consultation with the developer we have decided to extend the public consultation period on this important matter,” said Michelle Sanson, Director of Planning and Development Services. “We don’t yet have all necessary reports, and we feel the best course of action is to conduct engagement with additional stakeholder groups that have made contact in the early stages of consultation. This is a very important decision and the public and stakeholders must be given ample opportunity to be heard and provide feedback. We anticipate this being brought back to City Council early in 2021.”
