Public Asked to Watch for Crews During Pothole Repairs
March 25, 2026
Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that spring conditions have contributed to an increase in pothole formation and their accelerated deterioration, and crews are actively working to inspect and repair roadways.
These repairs may include cold mix asphalt, as well as hot mix asphalt produced by the City’s Asphalt Recycler.
Cold mix may be used for temporary repairs when there is excessive water or run off in the area, as well as excavation repairs requiring a substantial amount of material, as the Asphalt Recycler produces hot mix in small batches.
The City may also use the Infrared Heater to re-heat and re-work old asphalt patches which require attention or additional hot mix to repair. This equipment enables crews to complete higher-quality repairs before the local asphalt plant opens for the season.
Motorists are reminded to follow all temporary signage, obey all barricades, and slow down to 30 km/h in work zones for the safety of everyone. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.
Residents are encouraged to report drainage or pothole issues via the ‘Report An Issue’ feature on MooseJaw.ca or the free City of Moose Jaw app, selecting the ‘Streets & Roads’ category.
