Moose Jaw, SK – 5,689 kilograms of hazardous material was collected at the City of Moose Jaw’s Household Hazardous Waste Day.
The annual event was held from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29 at the City Complex (1010 High St. West).
447 vehicles passed through, with residents dropping off 5,689 kg of hazardous materials, up from 5,232 kg collected at the 2019 event. Among the material was a mix of compressed gases, flammable liquids, corrosives, and other toxic/environmentally hazardous products.
All materials were safely removed from the vehicles by City staff and representatives from GFL Environmental, who will safely dispose of the collected material.
The City of Moose Jaw thanks participating residents and reminds all that products such as used oil and antifreeze can be disposed of at the City of Moose Jaw Landfill during regular operating hours, and used electronics and paint can be disposed of at your local SARCAN depot.
