Moose Jaw, SK – The process of commissioning the new Buffalo Pound to Moose Jaw water supply transmission line has begun. All of the City’s potable water comes from the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant, and is delivered through the transmission line, which is approximately 20 kilometres in length.

In 2018, a new transmission line was installed and the remaining infrastructure work is almost complete, which will allow the new line to go into service. Part of the prep work involves flushing and disinfecting the new line to ensure it is fully clean before it transmits our drinking water, and residents may notice water being flushed from the site of the High Service Reservoir Pump House on Grafton Avenue, just south of the Lynbrook golf course.

Mark Caringal, Manager of Engineering Services, and Jason Casemore, Utilities Supervisor for Water/Wastewater, joined Communications Manager Craig Hemingway to describe the process on the latest episode of the City of Moose Jaw Notorious Jawcast.
