New Downtown Holiday Lights Turned on For Christmas in October Weekend
Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw, in partnership with the Downtown Moose Jaw Association (DMJA), is pleased to announce that holiday lights in downtown Moose Jaw will be turned on Wednesday, October 25 in advance of the DMJA’s Christmas in October event October 26-29.
A $25,000.00 commitment from the DMJA, in addition to $35,000.00 from the City of Moose Jaw’s approved Budget for lights, resulted in the purchase of 13 “overhead” lights and 12 new street pole lights to complement the City’s existing light inventory.
The majority of the new lights have arrived and have been installed, and they will be turned on for Christmas in October weekend. The lights will be turned off October 30 (weather permitting) and will come on again after Remembrance Day. The remainder of the new lights are anticipated to arrive and be installed this holiday season.
