May 2, 2022
Moose Jaw, SK – Moose Jaw Mayor Clive Tolley has proclaimed May 15-21, 2022 as “Public Works Week” in Moose Jaw.
The theme of Public Works Week this year is “Ready and Resilient”, and refers to how our Public Works employees are often superheroes, ready to respond at any time to urgent situations affecting our infrastructure, facilities or fields.
“I have a deep appreciation for the work of all City employees,” said Mayor Clive Tolley. “I hope all Moose Javians will take some time during Public Works Week to appreciate the multiple ways our Public Works employees positively impact our City. Whether it’s repairing infrastructure, ensuring safe drinking water, collecting our garbage, beautifying our green spaces and more, we thank them for everything they do.”
Numerous City services and infrastructure fall under the umbrella of Public Works, including:
- Streets and roads
- Bridges
- Water and wastewater
- Public transportation
- Parks and green space maintenance
- Facility maintenance
The City of Moose Jaw is pleased to announce that the Open House at the City Complex will return this year, after being cancelled in 2020 and 2021. Residents are invited to the Complex (1010 High St. West) between 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18. We’ll have heavy equipment on display along with games and live demonstrations. There will also be a charity BBQ (proceeds to the Family First Radiothon) and the Kona Ice truck will be there with treats for sale.
Mayor Tolley joined members of our Streets & Roads crew at an active job site on Main St. North (Monday, May 2) to get more details on our Public Works Week celebrations.
