Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that Phase Nine of the Infrastructure Renewal Program continues to progress.

Coteau Street W – Closed between 8th Avenue SW and 10th Avenue SW, including the 8th and 9th Ave SW intersections of Coteau St. W, and 9th Avenue SW to Grandview St.  While the 9th Avenue intersection is closed, heavy haul trucks are detoured to 32nd Avenue and alternate detours for light traffic will be in place. Surface work is ongoing, and water main installation is complete. The Coteau St and 9th Avenue SW intersection is expected to reopen to traffic on Monday, weather permitting. However, the 800 block of Coteau and 8th Ave. SW intersection will remain closed next week for continued work. Additionally, the City’s contractors working on electrical upgrades to the 9th Ave. SW and Coteau intersection are finishing up following a delay due to rain.

Grace Street from Hawthorne Crescent to Thatcher Drive remains closed. Water main work continues on Rorrison Avenue from Grace Street to Corman Crescent. Grace Street, east of the construction site, is open to local traffic only. The City continues to remind residents in Zone 2 who are impacted by construction on Hawthorne Crescent, Corman Crescent, Pascoe Drive W, and Princess Crescent backing onto Thatcher Drive, that collection has moved to front street pick up for the duration of this project.

Transit service is impacted, and two stops are closed during construction.

  • Transit route #3 Athabasca West/Thatcher Drive will go to Grace Street, servicing the stops at Grace Street & 13th NW and Grace Street & Prince Charles Place.
  • The route will continue to Gordon Road and 13th NW onto Princess Crescent proceeding to 13th Ave. NW, where it will return to the usual route.

The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that all area businesses remain open during construction and access will be available via sidewalks and temporary walkways. Also, all work in these locations is dependent on favorable weather conditions.

Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.

The City will continue to issue weekly updates as the program progresses. For a full list of the 2024 water main replacement locations, along with full details on the program visit Moosejaw.ca/watermainreplacement/.
