Household Hazardous Waste Day Returns August 29

Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that Saturday, August 29 is Household Hazardous Waste Day.

From 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Moose Jaw residents are invited to safely dispose of unwanted chemicals and other hazardous materials from their households, free of charge, at the City Complex, 1010 High St. West.

Among materials accepted:

  • Aerosol Cans (Hair Spray, deodorant, household cleaners etc.)
  • Liquid household cleaners
  • Batteries (Lithium ion, alkaline, rechargeable etc.)
  • Light bulbs (Fluorescent, LED, Metal Halide, etc.)

502 vehicles visited the City Complex for Household Hazardous Waste Day in 2019, disposing of a total of 5232kg of hazardous materials.

The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that they can dispose of oil, oil filters, oil containers and antifreeze at the City landfill during regular hours of operation.  For full details visit: https://moosejaw.ca/sanitary-landfill/.

Additionally, unwanted paint and electronics may be taken to SARCAN for recycling.
