MOOSE JAW – The final draft of the City of Moose Jaw Parks and Recreation Master Plan is now available for community review and input.

The goal of the Parks and Recreation Master Plan process is to create a user-friendly document that provides planning guidelines and recommendations for the Parks and Recreation Department over the next ten years.

Since April of 2022, the City of Moose Jaw Parks and Recreation Department has worked closely with EDS Group Inc. and Quantum Recreation to gather input from residents and stakeholders on the future of Parks and Recreation in Moose Jaw. The community feedback received through surveys, focus groups, the project website, and community meetings have been implemented into the final draft of the plan which currently has over forty (40) recommendations that will help prioritize and strategically guide programming and parks/facility infrastructure development and renewal in the future.

“The feedback received over the last 10 months has been vital in developing a community-driven strategy that will guide the delivery and continuous improvement of recreation and parks programs, services, and facilities over the next ten years,” said Derek Blais, Director of Parks and Recreation. “We are very excited to be entering into the final phase of the Parks & Recreation Master Plan development and thank everyone who has participated in the plan development process to date.”

Residents and stakeholders are strongly encouraged to visit to view the draft plan and to submit and final comments and questions prior to Monday, January 23, 2023.

The review of the draft plan is the final opportunity for residents and stakeholders to offer feedback on the Parks and Recreation Master Plan and recommendations before it is finalized and presented to City Council for formal adoption in February 2023.
