Culvert Work at 4th Avenue NW and Laurier Street Begins October 5
September 28, 2026
MOOSE JAW, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that culvert work in the area of 4th Avenue NW and Laurier Street is set to begin October 5, 2026, as part of the Spring Creek Stormwater Management Program.
Work in this area will include replacing the existing corrugated streel pipe (CSP) culvert with a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) culvert, as well as addressing erosion and safety around the culvert and inlet. Crews may be on site until mid-November, dependent on the weather, site conditions, and construction progress.
There may be intermittent closures of the road and walking paths in the area while material and site setup begins during the week of October 5, 2026.
A full road closure of the 4th Avenue NW and Laurier Street intersection and walking paths in the surrounding area will be in place while work is underway, with an anticipated start date of October 12, 2026. Please see the attached image for details. These areas are anticipated to be closed to pedestrians and motorists until mid-November.
The broader Spring Creek Stormwater Management Program looks to improve stormwater infrastructure within the Spring Creek watershed, aiming to increase hydraulic performance, reduce flood risks, and protect the public and properties.
Residents are reminded to obey all temporary signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.
If you have a concern, please use the ‘Report an Issue’ function on the City’s website or the free City of Moose Jaw app.
This project is funded in part by the Government of Saskatchewan and the Government of Canada.
