Council Approves Hillcrest Sports Centre Lease To Golden Ticket Sports

MOOSE JAW – Multiple community recreation opportunities will soon be available at the Hillcrest Sports Centre, following a lease agreement between the City of Moose Jaw and Golden Ticket Sports.

At the regular meeting of Moose Jaw City Council May 10, 2021, Council approved a five-year lease and operating agreement that will see Golden Ticket Sports invest over $300,000.00 into the facility in 2021, and also contribute to a Capital Reserve Fund for future upgrades.

“This is a significant investment that reinforces the viability of one of Moose Jaw’s most well-known facilities,” said Mayor Fraser Tolmie. “We thank Golden Ticket Sports for their commitment to expanding and enhancing the recreational opportunities in our city.”

Among the enhancements to the Hillcrest Sports Centre planned by Golden Ticket:

  • Hardwood gymnasium floor to accommodate activities such as basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. (90’ x 110’)
  • 4 basketball net systems and 2 portable hoops
  • 2 volleyball net systems
  • Gymnasium scoreboard
  • Beach volleyball area
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Washroom and changeroom fixture replacements
  • New reception desk

Golden Ticket Sports adds that they are committed to affordable rental rates and are willing to work with the existing tenants and other interested groups on long-term rental agreements.

The facility improvements are expected to begin soon so that community programming can begin by early July.
