MOOSE JAW – Sunday, May 15 has been proclaimed as Community Clean Up Day in Moose Jaw.

The City of Moose Jaw’s Community Clean Up Committee is inviting residents to come together and pick up garbage and tidy up their respective areas in the city on May 15 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Any resident or group interested in participating can email: cleanup@moosejaw.ca and let us know which area of Moose Jaw you’d like to help clean up.

The Clean Up event will begin at 10:00 am from the Moose Jaw Coop Marketplace parking lot (500 1st Ave. NW), and the Community Clean Up Committee will supply garbage bags. The event will wrap up with a “thank you” barbecue for volunteers courtesy of the Moose Jaw Coop. Volunteers will be provided a voucher for the meal. The bbq lunch will cost $5 for non-volunteers.

Further, May 9-15 has been proclaimed as Community Clean Up Week.

“The City of Moose Jaw’s Community Clean Up Committee’s objective is to encourage groups and individuals to create a higher level of ownership and pride in their neighborhoods,” said Mayor Clive Tolley. “With this proclamation we’re asking our business owners, residents, and schools to participate in Community Clean Up Week and Community Clean Up Day.”

All Moose Javians are invited to participate and can join the Clean Up MJ Facebook group to let us know how you’re helping the cause anytime during Community Clean Up Week. Be sure to post pictures and use the hashtag: #CleanUpMJ.
