City Wins Municipalities Of Saskatchewan Award For RFS App
February 1, 2021
MOOSE JAW – The City of Moose Jaw has won first place in the Municipalities of Saskatchewan (MOS) annual Saskatchewan Municipal Awards for innovation and excellence.
The award is for the City’s Request For Service (RFS) app, which launched February 12, 2020. The app gives residents the ability to report issues and send pictures of the problem directly to the proper department. Residents are notified when the request has been received and resolved. The app also gives the City the ability to send push notifications about City programs and services.
“Our residents were asking for a more efficient way to communicate with City Hall and in 2018 our Council made the decision to proceed with a Request For Service app project,” said Fraser Tolmie, Mayor. “We are very pleased with the result and thank Administration for their work to provide a user-friendly, award-winning product.”
“We aim to provide exceptional customer service and the app has made a notoriously positive impact,” said Jim Puffalt, City Manager. “We thank our IT department for leading this project, and thank all departments for their response to issues submitted by our residents.”
The City of Moose Jaw will be presented with the award February 9, during the Municipalities of Saskatchewan annual conference.
