MOOSE JAW, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that crews are responding to mixed sleet, snow, and wind conditions that began early Thursday morning.

Crews were deployed to grade roads once the lightning cleared and it was safe to operate equipment. Sand trucks are following to help improve traction on roadways as needed.

With snow forecasted to continue through to Friday, April 24, the City will monitor weather and road conditions and deploy crews as necessary to keep roads passable, adjusting the response as conditions change.

Temperatures are expected to rise above zero later this weekend. As a result, initiation of a full priority snow clearing response per the Winter Service Level Framework is not anticipated at this time.

The public is reminded to keep a safe distance from crews and equipment to ensure everyone’s safety. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.

Residents requiring assistance are encouraged to submit a request through Report an Issue on the City’s website on MooseJaw.ca or through the City of Moose Jaw app. For concerns related to snow or ice, select Winter Maintenance. For concerns related to drainage issues, select Roadways.

As conditions change, updates will continue to be posted on the Snow Centre, which is accessible through both MooseJaw.ca and the City of Moose Jaw app.
