MOOSE JAW – The City of Moose Jaw has reached a settlement with Ungar Construction Ltd. related to water main replacement construction in 2017.

Ungar Construction Ltd. was the selected contractor for Phase Two of the City’s Cast Iron Water Main Replacement Program in 2017, with 2.7 kilometers of new, underground pipes installed across the following locations:

  • Caribou St. W from 4th Ave. NW to 1st Ave. NW.
  • High St. W from 8th Ave. NW to 3rd Ave. NW.
  • 3rd Ave. NW from River St. W to Fairford St. W.
  • Keith St. W from 9th Ave. SW to Valleyview Dr.
  • Valleyview Dr. from east of 9th Ave. SW to 7th Ave. SW.

After the completion of all undergrounds in 2017, the contract was terminated, with negotiations in place since that time to resolve outstanding issues.

“The City of Moose Jaw is pleased that all outstanding issues have been resolved,” said Maryse Carmichael, City Manager. “Ungar Construction Ltd. is considered to be in good standing, and they are free to resume bidding on future projects put to tender by the City of Moose Jaw.”
