City Prepares For World Curling Event With Main Street Flags
March 7, 2025
Moose Jaw, SK – This week the City of Moose Jaw began preparations for the BKT Tires 2025 World Men’s Curling Championship, scheduled for March 29 – April 6 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
As the City did when hosting the 2023 World Para Hockey Championships, City crews have installed flags from all participating countries in flag poles between Caribou St. and Manitoba St. There are five flags from each of the 13 countries on display, plus the City of Moose Jaw flag in front of City Hall.
“We are eagerly anticipating the BKT Tires World Men’s Curling Championships coming to Canada’s Most Notorious City,” said Mayor James Murdock. “The flags are just one way we can show the players, officials and fans from all participating countries and beyond how warm and welcoming we are in Moose Jaw.”
Addressing the imposition of tariffs on Canadian goods by the United States and how that has impacted the current political climate, Mayor Murdock stated that “our federal and provincial politicians are doing their best to navigate a difficult situation and protect our interests as Canadians. From a municipal standpoint, we welcome all visitors, including our American friends, and want to ensure they have a positive, memorable experience and will keep Moose Jaw a preferred tourist destination.”
