MOOSE JAW – The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that there will be no waste or recycling collection on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1).
All zones will receive collection services during those weeks, but your collection day may be affected. Please refer to your collection schedule. If you need a new collection schedule, you may pick one up at City Hall (228 Main St. North) or find it with the link on the home page of www.MooseJaw.ca.
Additionally, the City reminds residents about what can and can not be recycled:
- Cardboard boxes
- Plastics (Numbers 1-7 EXCEPT plastic #1 clamshell containers, plastic wrap and single-use plastic shopping bags)
- Unbroken glass
- Aluminum and tin cans
- Juice and milk cartons.
- Wrapping paper
- Plastic packaging WITHOUT the Recycling symbol
It’s important that all material going into the recycling bin be clean and free of tape, food stains, food residue, etc.
The City also reminds residents that old electronics, among other items, can be taken to SARCAN. And, if you have an excess of acceptable cardboard, paper and plastics, you can dispose of the items at the City recycle bins on High Street West between the City Complex and Yara Centre.
Finally, the City of Moose Jaw will once again offer alternatives for disposing of your natural Christmas tree. Residents may drop off their natural Christmas trees in the parking lot of the Bike
Park west of Yara Centre (1220 High St. West) anytime after December 26th, OR you can leave your Christmas tree near your waste collection bin and they will be picked up by collection crews, beginning January 20, 2020, in Zone 1.
Pickup will continue after that date coinciding with the collection calendar. For more information visit www.MooseJaw.ca.
