The City of Moose Jaw advises that the Canadian flag at City Hall will remain lowered to half mast in recognition of the passing of the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, S.O.M., C.D., S.V.M. on April 8, 2026.

She was installed as the 21st Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan from 2012 to 2018 and was appointed an Honorary Colonel at 15 Wing Moose Jaw in 2025.

“The Honourable Vaughan Solomon Schofield has left a lasting legacy and touched the lives of countless Saskatchewan residents though her community leadership and military advocacy,” said Mayor James Murdock. “Lowering the Canadian flag is a solemn expression of our gratitude and respect for her lifetime of service.”

The flag will remain lowered until sunset on the day of her service.
