City Crews Taking Steps to Mitigate Flooding
February 5, 2026
MOOSE JAW, SK – City of Moose Jaw crews were out overnight on February 4, working to mitigate localized flooding caused by recent warm temperatures and melting snow.
Vacuum trucks were deployed to clear as many affected areas as possible, while Roadways crews worked to manually remove snow and ice from catch basins and storm drains to help promote drainage.
This proactive work is continuing through February 5 and will carry on through the weekend, as required, to manage melting conditions and reduce the risk of flooding.
The City encourages residents to use the Report An Issue feature on MooseJaw.ca or the free City of Moose Jaw app to report blocked drains and pooling water causing potential hazards. Under the Roadways category, select Drainage Issues, and provide any details, including location and photos.
If it is safe to do so, residents can also help by keeping catch basins and storm drains clear of snow and ice in proximity to their properties, and by ensuring proper drainage away from houses and garages and towards the storm sewer network.
The City thanks residents for their patience and cooperation in flood mitigation efforts.
