City Council Approves Collective Bargaining Agreement Between City and CUPE Local 9

Moose Jaw – A new Collective Barganing Agreement between the City of Moose Jaw and CUPE Local 9 has been ratified by the City of Moose Jaw.
The new CBA was approved at the regular meeting of City Council Monday, June 15, 2020. Terms include enhanced benefits and a wage settlement of:
- 1.25% on January 1, 2019;
- 1.5% on January 1, 2020;
- 1.5% on January 1, 2021 and;
- 1.75% on January 1, 2022.
“We’re happy this agreement has been finalized,” said Jim Puffalt, City Manager. “Not only does it give us cost certainty through 2022, but it provides opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings through some of the enhancements to scheduling protocol. We value the work of our CUPE Local 9 employees and thank them for a respectful and productive barganing process.”
CUPE Local 9 represents 176 City of Moose Jaw employees. The previous agreement expired December 31, 2018.
