MOOSE JAW, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that crews continue to sand roadways and respond to emergent areas following the snowfall that began on April 16, 2026.

Crews are actively clearing roads in Priority 1 locations where snow can be pushed into ditches and where windrowing (piling of snow) is not required, while also responding to any emergent concerns.

Residents are advised that windrowing is being avoided. With temperatures expected to rise rapidly over the weekend and into next week, windrowing could result in the formation of prolonged ice ridges and delay natural melting. Snow may be piled only if deemed necessary.

City sand trucks are addressing icy conditions and will remain in operation over the weekend performing ice control as needed.

Crews are monitoring catch basins and storm drains for blockages to help prevent localized flooding as temperatures rise. Crew response is subject to change as conditions evolve.

The public is reminded to keep a safe distance from crews and equipment for the safety of everyone. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.

Residents requiring assistance are encouraged to submit a request through Report an Issue on the City’s website on MooseJaw.ca or through the City of Moose Jaw app. For concerns related to snow or ice, select Winter Maintenance. For concerns related to drainage issues, select Roadways.

As conditions change, updates will continue to be posted on the Snow Centre, which is accessible through both MooseJaw.ca and the City of Moose Jaw app.
