MOOSE JAW – The City of Moose Jaw has engaged with adjacent landowners for a proposed Solid Waste Management (SWM) Facility.

The current City Landfill has served the community for almost 100 years and is expected to reach the end of its useful life within 4-5 years. To continue to serve Moose Javians and surrounding users, the City has begun the processes for conceptual design and siting for the new SWM facility.

The proposed location is north of the city in the R.M. of Moose Jaw, and as a first step, the City is working with the R.M. of Moose Jaw to acquire a land use approval through their discretionary use process. As part of this process, we are reaching out to adjacent landowners and key stakeholders.

All interested parties are invited to review project information, including conceptual design, waste management features, dust and odour control plans and answers to Frequently Asked Questions, through the SWM project web page – www.moosejaw.ca/swmp.

The City also invites you to attend a project open house, scheduled for early 2024. There will be further stakeholder and public engagement throughout the course of this project.
