City, Transit Employees Reach New Collective Agreement
MOOSE JAW – Moose Jaw City Council has ratified a new Collective Agreement between the City and Transit Employees – UNIFOR Local 101R.
A tentative agreement between the two parties was reached May 5, 2023. City Council ratified the new deal May 29, 2023, and UNIFOR members voted in favour May 31, 2023. The previous agreement had expired December 31, 2022.
In addition to enhancements to employee benefits, the new agreement calls for the following wage increases to UNIFOR Unit Local 101R members:
• 1.8% on January 1, 2023; 1.5% on January 1, 2024; and 2.0% on January 1, 2025.
“The City of Moose Jaw is pleased to come to this agreement,” said Maryse Carmichael, City Manager. “We value the work of our UNIFOR members every day, and they continue to provide
excellent service to our community. We also thank them for a productive, respectful bargaining process.”
UNIFOR Local 101R represents 18 City of Moose Jaw Transit employees in the Public Works & Utilities department.
