MOOSE JAW, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that the detours and lane restrictions around the intersection of 2nd Avenue NE and Manitoba Street E are scheduled to end by Saturday, October 11, with the conclusion of the Signalized Intersection Upgrade Project.

Eastbound and westbound traffic on Manitoba Street E is currently reduced to a single lane within the northside lanes, with southbound traffic at 2nd Avenue NE to Manitoba Street E completely blocked. These traffic changes are expected to end with the reopening of the intersection by Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Can-Traffic Services Ltd., a contractor for the City’s Engineering Services Department, began the Signalized Intersection Upgrade Project in August 2025, with the scope including the installation of a new traffic cabinet, signals, streetlights, concrete/asphalt removal and replacement, line painting and restoration.

The 2nd Avenue NE and Manitoba Street E signalized intersection was recommended for full replacement during the Traffic Signal Equipment Review in the 2024 Transportation Master Plan.
