Moose Jaw – The City of Moose Jaw’s 2020 Water Main Replacement Program will begin Wednesday, May 20.
NIS Contractors Ltd. of Regina have been selected to perform water main replacement construction in 2020, which includes four locations across the city:
– High St. West from Main St. to Third Avenue NW (540 metres)
– Fairford St. East from Main St. to Second Avenue NE (560 metres)
– Stadacona St. East from Sixth Avenue to 10th Avenue NE (790 metres)
– Third Avenue NW from Oxford St. to Macdonald St. (670 metres)
The project will begin on the 200 block of High St. West, and contractors will be on site to connect temporary water Wednesday, May 20. Construction will begin Monday, May 25 (weather permitting). Contractors will work on one block at a time, with each block taking approximately four weeks to complete (weather permitting).
The contractors will be able to have two crews working concurrently, and a second construction crew will begin at a separate location in June. The location will be determined in consultation with the contractor.
NIS will deliver notices to all affected properties in advance of construction with details on temporary water, road closures and optional private work (water/sewer connections).
All businesses remain open during construction and the City will issue weekly construction updates that include available parking and business access in the construction area.
