New BOULEVARD TREES Program

Block Planting Program

New for 2024, the City of Moose Jaw is replacing the Trees for New Subdivisions and Boulevard Tree Replacement Programs with a Block Planting Program. Parks and Recreation will select blocks throughout the city for boulevard tree planting. The new trees will be planted and watered by Parks staff. Adjacent homeowners will be notified before the trees are planted.

Planting a Tree on the Boulevard

If you would like to plant a tree on the boulevard yourself, you may apply to do so using a Boulevard Treatment Permit application.

We have listed a variety of trees from which you can choose if you would like to plant a tree on your boulevard. These are trees that we feel are best suited to our environment and to boulevard plantings. They would also make good choices for trees in your yard.

These trees can withstand our winters as well as our summers. This list offers a variety of shapes and color to add to the landscaping of your home and neighbourhood. We have listed the common and Latin names of the trees so you may research the tree if you wish.

Information on how to care for new trees can be found here.
