Infrastructure Renewal Update; 1000 Block of Coteau St. West Reopens to Traffic

Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that Phase Nine of the Infrastructure Renewal Program continues to progress, and work has shifted west, resulting in an additional closure and another block to reopen on south hill.
Work on Coteau Street W continues to progress, contractors closed the intersection of 8th Avenue SW and Coteau Street earlier this week but have reopened the 1000 block. Currently, the closure spans from 800 block of Coteau Street to the 9th Avenue SW and Coteau Street intersection all the way south to Grandview Street, and east through the 900 block of Coteau St. While the 9th Avenue intersection is closed, heavy haul trucks are detoured to 32nd Avenue and alternate detours for light traffic will be in place.
Grace Street from Hawthorne Crescent to Thatcher Drive remains closed. Water main work continues on Rorrison Avenue from Grace Street to Corman Crescent. Grace Street, east of the construction site, is open to local traffic only. The City continues to remind residents in Zone 2 who are impacted by construction on Hawthorne Crescent, Corman Crescent, Pascoe Drive W, and Princess Crescent backing onto Thatcher Drive, that collection has moved to front street pick up for the duration of this project.
Transit service is impacted, and two stops are closed during construction.
- Transit route #3 Athabasca West/Thatcher Drive will go to Grace Street, servicing the stops at Grace Street & 13th NW and Grace Street & Prince Charles Place.
- The route will continue to Gordon Road and 13th NW onto Princess Crescent proceeding to 13th Ave. NW, where it will return to the usual route.
The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that all area businesses remain open during construction and access will be available via sidewalks and temporary walkways. Also, all work in these locations is dependent on favorable weather conditions.
Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.
