Infrastructure Renewal Continues, 9th Ave SW Intersection to Close July 29
Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that Phase Nine of the Infrastructure Renewal Program is progressing, and crews remain working in two separate areas of the city.
Starting on July 29, the City’s contractors will close the 9th Avenue SW and Coteau Street intersection as work continues on Coteau Street from 9th Ave SW to 11th Avenue SW. Heavy trucks will be detoured to 32nd Avenue and alternate detours for light traffic will be in place while the intersection is closed. The feeder main has been installed up to 9th Avenue SW and surface work is ongoing on the 1000 block of Coteau St. W.
Grace Street from Hawthorne Crescent to Thatcher Drive remains closed, with no further closures anticipated for this area. Grace Street, east of the construction site, is open to local traffic only.
The City reminds residents in Zone 2 who are impacted by construction on Hawthorne Crescent, Corman Crescent, Pascoe Drive W, and Princess Crescent backing onto Thatcher Drive, that collection has moved to front street pick up for the duration of this project.
Transit service is impacted, and two stops will be closed during construction.
- Transit route #3 Athabasca West/Thatcher Drive will go to Grace Street, servicing the stops at Grace Street & 13th NW and Grace Street & Prince Charles Place.
- The route will continue to Gordon Road and 13th NW onto Princess Crescent proceeding to 13th Ave. NW, where it will return to the usual route.
The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that all area businesses remain open during construction and access will be available via sidewalks and temporary walkways. Also, all work in these locations is dependent on favorable weather conditions.
Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.
