2024 Infrastructure Renewal Update; Nearing Completion on Coteau St. & Grace St.
Moose Jaw, SK – The City of Moose Jaw advises that Phase Nine of the Infrastructure Renewal Program will soon be wrapping up as contractors are nearing completion at both work zones.
Coteau Street W – The 800 block of Coteau St. SW, including the 8th Ave SW intersection of Coteau St. W, remains closed. Contractors are finalizing water main work and paving preparations are underway. The intersection and street are expected to reopen to traffic the week of September 30, weather permitting. Also, the heavy haul truck detour was removed earlier this week when the 9th Ave. and Coteau St. intersection reopened.
Grace Street from Hawthorne Crescent to Thatcher Drive remains closed and the City will advise once the area is open to traffic again. Water mains have all been installed in the construction area and crews are continuing to work on storm drains. Grace Street, east of the construction site, is open to local traffic only.
The City continues to remind residents in Zone 2 who are impacted by construction on Hawthorne Crescent, Corman Crescent, Pascoe Drive W, and Princess Crescent backing onto Thatcher Drive, that collection has moved to front street pick up for the duration of this project.
Transit service is impacted, and two stops are closed during construction.
- Transit route #3 Athabasca West/Thatcher Drive will go to Grace Street, servicing the stops at Grace Street & 13th NW and Grace Street & Prince Charles Place.
- The route will continue to Gordon Road and 13th NW onto Princess Crescent proceeding to 13th Ave. NW, where it will return to the usual route.
The City of Moose Jaw reminds residents that all area businesses remain open during construction and access will be available via sidewalks and temporary walkways. Also, all work in these locations is dependent on favorable weather conditions.
Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.
